Looking the Other Way
Its been 16 days. 24 more to go. We have been filling our days with trips to the Zoo and the Franklin Institute, etc. Harvey enjoys all of these fancy activities, but he is actually quite content to simply go to the stream by the pond and throw stones of different sizes into the water, observing with great intensity the various levels of splashyness until the sun goes down. "Come on, Mommy," he says holding up a rock for me to throw. "ONE, TWO, THREE!!!" and we both throw the rocks into the water. I guess the activities are more for my sake; to take my attention off of the empty chair at the breakfast table. "That's Daddy's chair," Harvey points. "OH NO! I spilled the milk!" I glanced up from my Wheatabix. Ugh - milk everywhere - soaking into in the crevices of the table wood, running down the legs of the chair, table and child. Can I please look the other way? Well, the distraction is working. Thanks Mr. H!
