Bad Stomach

The BRAT diet.

Bananas

Rice

Apple Sauce

Toast (or crackers, bagel, noodles, etc.)

Poor little imp fell asleep watching Teletubbies yesterday. I NEVER let him watch TV so it was too bad for him he didn't get to see much. I don't know if it was the 3 week old pasta he had for dinner, but he slept most of the day fighting fevers. I finally gave him Tylenol at 6 PM when the thermometer read 102. The pediatrician said to only give "clear liquids" i.e. pedialyte, gatorade, white grape juice, jello, etc. and no water, no dairy when dealing with food poisining and stomach bugs. Unfortunately the berry jello and cherry gatorade were NOT GOOD for his tummy - he spit them up and stained the rug. UGH! So my next question is.....WHY oh WHY do they put red dye in anything for children (or adults) especially if they are intended to be "sick foods". I got most of the red gatorade out of the rug, but I learned my lesson. NO MORE RED JUICE/JELLO! I made him iced "nursing mothers" tea this morning- a much cleaner alternative which his tummy seemed to tolerate much better. No school for HS again today. Grandpa is coming over to help take care while I go out to teach today.
