Kid Food

I am telling the mom that we are having a little musical gathering at our place on the 16th. Would Olivia like to come and play her Tarantella? It would be a great motivation for her to practice. Also, we're going to have food. I am cooking this really fabulous wild Mushroom Tart. I'm going to stop you right there, she says. That's gourmet! You have to serve stuff like pizza bites and chicken nuggets. You know….Kid Food! I am learning about kid food, I tell her.
I have soy nuggets in my freezer. She laughs and scoots out the door with child number 4…off to ballet! I guess after I learn the ins and outs of kid cuisine, it is on to the fine art of chauffeuring.

PS This week he proved that he can eat a whole bowl of Rice Krispies (organic, of course!) by himself with a spoon and most of it actually gets in his mouth. It is so sweet to watch him eat.

Sweet, that is, until he throws it all on the floor.....what a little nuisance!

I also feed my son mainly organic fruits and veggies. He hasn't yet been exposed to a lot of kid food. I'm sure that's coming soon enough though. He's almost 2.
