Feeling Nostalgic

Tonight I had to think about which books to bring for Harvey to France. I decided that he would be happiest with Brown Bear Brown Bear, What Do You See (He's very good at turning the pages in the board book) AND Pat the Bunny (He LOVES to play peek-a-boo with Paul and lift up the blue curtain!) Somehow I got to thinking that I don't remember those books from when I was young. However, I remember this one. I loved it so much I brought it to the pool, the park and even to my best friend Stephanie's house across the street. So when I searched the internet and found this picture, it was amazing how my heart smiled with the glee of a 3-year-old. Thank you Harvey for awakening my childhood, step by step. And thank you Mom and Dad for the endless beautiful memories that keep on coming back to me! I can't wait to get my hands on the copy that my mother (hopefully) still has. Posted by Picasa

Dear Laura,

If your mother doesn't have it, go to e-bay or amazon.com. I have recently become very nostalgic for books from my childhood. Particularly the Tall Book of Make Believe, the Tall Book of Fairy Tales, the Giant Golden Book of Elves and Fairies, and a poetry book that included "the Pirate Don Durk of Dowdi." The tall books were given to Mary Ellen and me by Mom's mother. We read them endlessly. I found most of these on Amazon.com and e-bay, but they were in poor condition and cost 100s of dollars. All of our generations are lucky to have grown up surrounded by wonderful books.

Much Love,

Aunty Sara
