Locked Out

We closed the porch door behind us because the airconditioner was running and unfortunately the door locked automatically. So there we were. All of us. No cell phone. It was too funny to be true. We began to call out loud for help until our neighbor Eileen heard us and came to our rescue. Good thing we never chain the door! Posted by Picasa

Feeling Nostalgic

Tonight I had to think about which books to bring for Harvey to France. I decided that he would be happiest with Brown Bear Brown Bear, What Do You See (He's very good at turning the pages in the board book) AND Pat the Bunny (He LOVES to play peek-a-boo with Paul and lift up the blue curtain!) Somehow I got to thinking that I don't remember those books from when I was young. However, I remember this one. I loved it so much I brought it to the pool, the park and even to my best friend Stephanie's house across the street. So when I searched the internet and found this picture, it was amazing how my heart smiled with the glee of a 3-year-old. Thank you Harvey for awakening my childhood, step by step. And thank you Mom and Dad for the endless beautiful memories that keep on coming back to me! I can't wait to get my hands on the copy that my mother (hopefully) still has. Posted by Picasa

Too Big for the Airplane

The packing list is already too long. We are torn about bringing the pack-n-play as a substitute crib. So we are posting these pictures for our dear friend Catherine in Fontainebleau who will help us to get a crib and a high chair so that nothing is lost in the translation. What IS the french word for crib, anyway?

We're Back!

I am finally back in action after a month long crazy medical ordeal. I was diagnosed with a rare neuromuscular condition called Guillain-Barre Syndrome. I had to spend 11 days in the hospital and rehab and I am almost fully recovered now. Fortunately I was able to nurse Harvey throughout all of it and there was a ton of support from the Lactation Consultants at Lankenau Hospital. My family had to drive our little monkey over to the hospital every day and I would pump at night. The other good thing was that the hospital pump was really powerful compared to my Avent Isis hand pump I have used in the past. Harvey is saying "DaDa" now - just in time for Father's Day! It is such a blessing to be home again with this little guy. He weighed in at 15 lbs and 28 inches length on June 5 at the pediatrician. Posted by Picasa
