I'm Not Really Pregnant After All

We went into the Birth Center today for a check-up thinking that the BIG DAY had arrived. The midwife examined me and sent me home. The baby is not ready to come out yet. Apparently this "prodromal labor" could go on for another day or so. She gave me some castor oil and sent us home. I think a better term for these on-again off-again contractions is "pro-drama labor". When we got into the car I burst into tears saying, "People will think I'm not really pregnant afterall. I've just been walking around with a pillow under my shirt!"

Meanwhile we're supposed to distract ourselves by going to the movies. I think at $18 a pop to go to the theaters, we will have spent more money on waiting-for-baby film-going than on the $125 copay that is required for the entire 9 months and delivery!! ---Laura
