Piano Man

I think he's got a couple of new licks mastered. Lately, Harvey likes to sit at the piano by himself and just noodle around. Yesterday, Joe thought it was me playing "experimental" music. It's a great activity to get him out of my hair for about 5 minutes. BUT I have to keep an eye to make sure that he doesn't get bored and start climbing onto the top of the piano. Unfortunately, Harvey doesn't like it when I practice without him. He wants to be IN MY LAP dominating the sounds that are produced. If I bang along with him, that is OKAY, but as long as I don't try to make it sound like real music. (I think he gets jealous...)

All in a Day's Work

Harvey is getting pretty good at putting together IKEA furniture. He now insists on helping. Sometimes this is cute, but it can get very frustrating when he gets into the little bag with all of the hardware. In the blink of an eye he can walk off with some little special screw. Actually this happened yesterday and we had to drive all the way back to IKEA to get a little itty bitty screw that was about the size of his fingernail. While we were there I bought one of those sets of drawer organizers for the bedroom. Of course what is the point of organizing drawers with this monkey in the house? About every 3 days or so he declares "drawer dumping day". It's getting tougher and sweeter as time goes on.

This kid just LOVES the phone.

Toddlerhood is Here to Stay

He's climbing. It's official. We bought him a little table and chairs and the first thing he did was to stand on top of it (and fall off) He's got all four molars and he has learned how to throw a tantrum. Yes folks, he's a real live toddler as far as I am concerned. He has knocked over 2 lamps, broken dishes, ripped pages out of books, and even has phone conversations in a secret language. Everyone in the apartment building knows Harvy. He has been dubbed "King of the Aberwyck" (we'll put that on his resume when he get's older). He is a real pro at getting on and off of his tricycle. And mom is getting to be a real pro at figuring out how to keep him quiet during a telephone conversation. Which takes some real planning and kniving. Pictured here with his new t-shirt from Aunt Theresa from Nicaragua. He's getting kind of chubby!

Hangin' With Harvey

Lately he has a new routine:
1. Get into mom and dad's closet.
2. Dig into mom's lingerie.
3. Wear it.
4. Parade it around the Aberwyck.

Okay...this is REALLY getting embarrassing!

Dirty Baby!

Somehow he found this on the shelf and has taken a liking to it. I guess he is practicing for France this summer. For those of you that don't know the translation of Merde, you will have to look it up as this blog is rated G (hint: babies leave it in their diapers...) Meanwhile his cousin Erin gave him a much more useful gift for Christmas. which is a picture book of 1000 french words. Thanks Erin. Note that the green overalls and turtleneck were from Therese and are sized for 18 months! Wow Harvey you are getting big. Yesterday I took 4 bags full of too-small clothes to our storage facility at grandma's garage in Willow Grove!

Farewell

This was Harvey with Michelle on her last night with him. Michelle moved to Rochester last week. We will miss her youth and vitality. Thanks Michelle! We love you. Thanks for making a difference in Harvey's toddlerhood.
