This one was from Auntie Mary Jane and Uncle Michael. Harvey is on his way to becoming a heartbreaker!
The World According to Harvey...
18 inches hit our neighborhood this weekend. Here's to our little snow angel. It looks like we are confused parents; dressing our boy in a pink snowsuit, but it was a hand-me-down and as you can see from the photo, Harvey doesn't seem to mind at all! He's too busy working on his crawl technique; he's even gotten on all fours in the last few days. We're placing bets...
Grandpa Harvey Kerr used these Swiss Melodee Bells. They are a tradition in schools around the world. The bells are scientifically tuned from F to F and the metal inner bell has true pitch! These were a special gift from Auntie Sara who heard our plea for musically correct experiences for little Harvey. Aside from enjoying the bright colors and musical sounds, Harvey also likes to eat the bells!
Harvey's music lessons are going quite well. Notice that his fingers are so fast that they are a blur. Meanwhile, back in the pack-n-play, he's really rolling along! Today he rolled from stomach to back four different times. Keep it up little fella. You will surely give those folks down in Texas a "roll" for their money.
Today the Pediatrician gave us our lesson in sleep and food scheduling for our 4 1/2 month old baby. Up until now the protocol has been feed-on-demand (basically every 3 hours). But today we were given the green light to introduce solid foods into Harvey's diet via spoonfeeding. I felt a little threatened by the mention of rice cereal: "Isn't my milk good enough? I was hoping to breastfeed Harvey until the end of the first year." Dr. King reassured me that Harvey wouldn't give up on mother's milk; that the 3 times a day regimen of cereal, fruits and veggies would be in alternation with breastfeeding. Joe's question raised a different concern: "Will the diapers start to smell?" (For those who are curious, the answer was, "No.")
